Antigua

Boasting a beach for every day of the year and the sunniest climate in the Eastern Caribbean, Antigua truly is a relaxed paradise, perfect for the whole family. It is steeped in history with strong Spanish and British influences and, although its scenery is not as dramatic as some of the other islands, there is more than enough to keep any visitor active and the locals will make you feel right at home. No Antiguan holiday would be complete without taking part in some type of water-based activity, whether that’s a gentle stroll in the lapping waves or a deep sea fishing charter.

To make your stay in Antigua extra special, contact the Seasons in Style concierge department who will be happy to arrange the following for you:

- A must-visit is Shirley Heights, located above Nelson’s Dockyard and providing absolutely breathtaking views of the surrounding scenery, it is accompanied on a Sunday afternoon by a barbecue, rum punch and the gentle sounds of steel bands and reggae music. This is a great Caribbean experience for people of all ages and a good way for visitors and locals to mix and enjoy the roots of the island.

- The capital St. John’s is a must see, a lively area of shops and restaurants, perfect for experiencing local life. Friday and Saturday morning are the vibrant farmers market, folk crafts, tropical fruits and a buzzing crowd makes for a lively morning.

- The more adventurous can try the new Antigua Rainforest Canopy Tour, perfect for the whole family; the high wire course made up of 26 elements takes visitors from tree to tree via an assortment of suspension bridges, zip lines and swings. It provides a truly unique and exciting way to experience the rainforest.

- Antigua offer a great choice of restaurants both in and outside of the hotels. A great intimate candle-lit dining option is The Cove, situated on the cliff tops at Boon Point overlooking the ocean. East Restaurant at Carlisle Bay offers an eclectic mix of Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese; the dramatic interior with fuchsia pink chairs a contemporary setting. Those want to experience something a little different should try Le Bistro in Hodge’s Bay offering an unrivalled menu of French chic with Caribbean Zest. For those wanting to experience barefoot Caribbean dining try Castaways and OJ’s perfect for fresh delicious seafood and warm hospitality.

All of the above activities (and much more) can be discussed with and arranged by our Concierge department.
