Originally a hunting lodge built in the 1950s, La Gazelle d’Or is a discreet and exclusive hideaway with the emphasis on tranquility.

Just 45 minutes from Agadir airport and a mile from Taroudant, La Gazelle d’Or is one of Morocco’s most wonderful hotels. This sanctuary from 21st-century pressures is tucked away in 200 acres of orange groves, rose gardens and manicured lawns at the foot of the Atlas Mountains.

Accommodation

There are just 30 individually decorated cottages and suites, each with a private terrace. Inside, cool white walls, carved wooden furniture, an open fireplace and ornate Moroccan lanterns create a stylish and luxurious cocoon, a TV-free zone where relaxation rules.

Restaurants & Bars

Breakfasts are served each morning on your terrace overlooking the lawns, and lunch is an informal buffet beside the pool. In the evenings, dine on Moroccan and international food in the formal Round Room restaurant, the romantic tented dining room or alfresco on the candlelit terrace.

The hotel has an organic farm on site, providing much of the fresh produce used in the kitchens.

Recreation

Recreational facilities include a pool, two clay tennis courts, croquet and pitch-and-putt.

The hotel’s traditional hammam is the place to enjoy a full body scrub, followed by a massage with essential oils.
