Set in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, Kasbah Tamadot gained the instant affections of Sir Richard Branson.
He then transformed it into an intimate and magical retreat where the peaceful surroundings of Kasbah Tamadot are reflected in the name, which means ‘soft breeze’ in the local berber language. Moroccan design is combined with contemporary interiors and the facilities of a luxury boutique hotel.
Accommodation: 18 Guest Rooms and Suites
There are just 18 rooms and suites, beautifully decorated with carved ceilings, antique doors, handpainted furniture and an eclectic range of artefacts from Africa and Asia.
The magnificent three-bedroom Master Suite is reached via a rambling rose garden: a miniature replica of the Kasbah itself, it has a private pool and 360-degree views from its secluded roof terrace.
The Kanoun restaurant serves Moroccan, African and international cuisine accompanied by fine wines: dine on its terrace under the stars.
Guests spend the days lazing by the infinity pool or on the upper terrace, which has spectacular views of the valley below and snow-capped mountains above. There are also tennis courts, a gym and the Asounfou Spa featuring a traditional hammam, which surrounds the indoor pool.
Guided mountain walks along with cultural and historical excursions can also be arranged.
