Accommodation

The hotel offers 100 villas and grand villas in five different types of accommodation, each surrounded by the breathtaking natural beauty of the Indian Ocean, and each catering to the individual needs and desires of guests.

Restaurants & Bars

Food for romance, for relaxation, for the sheer pleasure of company... on the porch of a villa, on a secluded beach, around the pool or on the seashore. Kanuhura offers cuisines of unimaginable variety – and all the fruits of the Indian Ocean.

The finest ingredients are imported from all over the world, whilst fresh fish and seafood come directly from the clear waters of Lhaviyani Atoll. The resort has sourced an interesting selection of international wines to complement the delectable cuisine prepared by internationally-trained chefs.

Kandu Restaurant, offers light grilled lunches and is located on a small private island getaway, Jehunuhura just minutes away by boat from Kanuhura.

Unwind with an exotic cocktail in hand and enjoy the sun, the shade, or the evening ambience at one of Kanuhura’s cool bars and lounges.

Spa

One of the largest Asian-style spas in the Maldives, the spa has beautifully designed wooden interiors which create a sanctuary for relaxation and overall wellness.

Set in its own lavish pavilion and featuring beautifully designed wooden interiors, the spa houses eight beautifully appointed treatment rooms complete with private outdoor garden shower, half of which are designed for couples to have side-by-side therapies. Spa products are specially blended with fragrant essential oils of flowers, spices, herbs, fruits and plants from all over the world.

Children

Children ages four to eleven revel in the adventure of discovering the dedicated enrichment programme all in their own club. The complimentary program features professionally trained staff incorporating the natural environs of the island into an engaging schedule of enriching activities: Maldivian arts and crafts, hermit crab races, Dhivehi language lessons, pirate games and pizza making with the chef all keep kids busy and interested.

Available daily from 9am - 12 noon, 2pm - 5pm and 7pm to 10pm, the club provides a dedicated area located on the southern end of the island, featuring a large sand-filled playground, treehouse and swimming pool, ensuring kids have their own sense of place, and parents have peace of mind.

Children under four are welcome at the club if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Designated staff provide a personal service for the twelve- to seventeen-year-olds, helping them connect and socialise with new friends from around the world in a fun environment. They can enjoy a wide variety of programme options including sports, nature, adventure and local excursions.

The resort is pleased to arrange professional baby-sitting services for infants four months old and up for a nominal fee; guests are kindly asked to provide 24 hours notice. Complimentary baby cots for children below the age of two years are also available upon request.

Recreation

Close to some of the world’s finest diving sites, scuba and snorkelling enthusiasts explore shipwrecks and coral reefs.

From the sublime pursuits of yoga to tennis at the Peter Burwash Tennis Centre, to driving bio-degradable dissolving golf balls from the jetty deep into the ocean, guests revel in the chilled-out and adventurous spirit of The Kanuhura Resort.

Jehunuhura Island

The Kanuhura Resort also features its own private desert island nearby where guests can find tranquility and privacy while settling themselves on the beach in one of the six individual well-spaced open-sided shady cabanas or under a thatched umbrella with cushioned sun loungers.

When the sun sets, this treasure island becomes a desirable location for private parties, delectable dinners or romantic interludes. Resort staff can create the ultimate magical occasion with barbecues for a small group or friends, or an intimate candle-lit evening for couples.
