Princes, poets and presidents have all stayed at this magnificent ‘Leading Hotel of the World’ on the banks of the glorious Lake Como.
Sweeping staircases, glass chandeliers and marble columns characterise the palatial interiors of this legendary hotel, a former royal residence built in 1568 and extended in the 19th century. Around it are 25 acres of parkland and magnificently landscaped gardens.
All the luxury and glamour of the villa’s past has been maintained intact: antiques and art, including biblical paintings and statues from the school of Antonio Canova, decorate the grand public rooms.

Accommodation
The guest rooms and suites, some of which have balconies or terraces, have all been individually decorated and feature period furniture. Decadent and sumptuous, this is fine living at its very best.
The most spectacular suite at Villa d’Este, the Cardinal Suite is located in the original Cardinal Building, and is truly a home away from home. The suite features a private terrace overlooking Lake Como which is the perfect place to sunbathe, have lunch or simply enjoy a favourite book.
Restaurants & Bars
Dining options include Italian haute cuisine at The Veranda and local specialities at the Grill. Dinner outside by the lake must rank as one of Villa d’Este’s greatest pleasures.
During the summer months, weather permitting, a band will play on the lake front terrace under the stars at d'Este Club.
Recreation
Recreational facilities include The Sporting Club with gym, tennis courts, a floating outdoor pool, a nearby 18-hole golf course designed by Peter Gannon and the Beauty Centre, a luxury spa designed along Zen principles and featuring an indoor pool, Turkish baths and sauna.
The many pleasures of Lake Como are on your doorstep. From the pier of the scenic town of Cernobbio, a boat ride transports visitors to Bellagio, the 'Pearl of the Lake' - the most picturesque village on Lake Como.
