Italian Islands

Europe

Overview

Like cupped hands, the large islands of SARDINIA and SICILY contain the rich blue waters of the Tyrrenhian Sea. Closer to the mainland, CAPRI is the island jewel of the Italian coastline.

Sardinia is one of the Mediterranean’s least-known destinations, yet it is the second largest island in the Meditteranean and plays host to some of the finest hotels in Europe. The coastal landscapes on the Costa Smeralda, with their powder-soft sand, are amongst the most beautiful in the world.

To the south, the largest of the Italian islands is stunning Sicily, sitting at the crossroads of Europe and Africa, with smouldering Mount Etna at the core of its landscape and psyche, it offers some extraordinary scenery.

Tiny Capri can happily lay claim to being the most beautiful island in the Mediterranean, with more than 800 species of flowers and plants cascading over a sheer chunk of limestone.
