The Clarence

Dublin - Ireland

Overview

Founded in 1852, the Clarence grabbed the limelight in 1992 when Bono and the Edge of U2 took on the task of restoring the building and creating their own version of the ideal hotel.

Located in the heart of the city on the famous River Liffy, the design of Dublin’s premier boutique hotel merges a subtle palette of the finest natural materials - Portland stone, American white oak, Italian limestone, leather and velvet.

Soothe away aches and be pampered at ‘Therapy@The Clarence’, or in the evening, join the chic of Dublin at the famous Octagon Bar.

Accommodation

Each room and suite has been individually designed to provide accommodation that is simple, elegant and refined. Twin rooms are available but the majority of rooms have super king-size double beds.

No two rooms or suites are alike and are decorated in one of the hotel's five signature colours: crimson, royal blue, amethyst, gold and chocolate. Shaker-style furniture, specially crafted beds with Egyptian linens and spacious white tiled bathrooms with pedestal sinks and oak cabinets.

With its superb views of the River Liffey below and the cityscape fanning north and south-east toward the horizon of the Dublin mountains, The Penthouse is the perfect hideaway for those guests seeking luxury and a friendly but unobtrusive service.

The exciting food in the Tea Room features menus based on the highest quality Irish produce and seasonal ingredients, enhanced with a continental twist. The breads, chutneys, sorbets/ice creams and even chocolates are all home-made.

Featuring an octagon-shaped dome, The Octagon Bar has remained a favourite Dublin watering hole throughout the hotel's history. Filling up with its eclectic mix of residents and locals, The Octagon Bar is a popular meeting place that is available for lunches, pre-dinner drinks, cocktail receptions and dining.
