Recreation
Emerge into the world of Atlantis and the children will adore you: take them snorkelling in the seven-acre saltwater lagoon, dare to ride the mile-long river ride and the 68ft waterslide; interact with the world’s most captivating mammals within the dolphin interaction facility. Sheer fun. Or, register for introductory scuba lessons and your children will be thrilled with youth scuba.
Featuring a 4-lane lap pool, tennis clinics and hourly lessons with an on-site tennis pro, the Sports Centre at Atlantis has something for everyone. Guests can also enjoy a game of tennis or basketball.
For those who wish to be pampered, the Mandara Spa brings together ancient Balinese healing touches, traditional European therapies and natural elements indigenous to The Bahamas, to provide the most unique and pampering spa treatments.
Children
Children's programmes are available from the Morning & Afternoon Escape for ages 3 to 5, to the Evening Escape featuring activities for 3 to 12 year olds.
During the day, kids aged 6 to 12 can embark on a Discovery Kids Adventure offered as hourly sessions, half day or full day experiences from 9am to 5pm.
Kids will uncover the legend of ancient Atlantis by learning about the artifacts in The Dig and by decoding the secrets of its mysterious hieroglyphs. They can also discover what life may have been like for the Atlanteans over 11,000 years ago on a guided tour. Pool and tag games, water relays, scavenger hunts and Beach Olympics are just some of the challenges children will enjoy.
Guided expeditions around Atlantis' waterscape - the world's largest marine habitat second only to Mother Nature - are available to children. There are 11 exhibit lagoons, home to over 50,000 sea animals including sharks, piranha, stingrays and sawfish. Kids can participate in fish feedings, and learn how the Seakeepers take care of the animals in the fish hospital; view the planets and stars in the Star Lab inflatable planetarium or swim with the fish in the protected Paradise Lagoon.
