Turks & Caicos, The Bahamas and Grand Cayman
Caribbean
Overview
In recent years, the Turks & Caicos have come out of their shell, making the tansformation from ‘the forgotten islands’ to ‘the new Bahamas’.
TURKS AND CAICOS offer a slow pace of life together with plentiful opportunities for world-class diving and deep-sea fishing. There are eight islands and over 30 cays which remain deserted and offer unspoilt natural beauty. They have worked their magic on the new visitors who come for pristine coral reefs and the remarkable peace and quiet. As the islands came late to the tourism scene, the authorities were able to set up national parks before severe damage was done to the reefs. Turks and Caicos appeal particularly to those in search of a romantic getaway.
THE BAHAMAS’ 700 islands probably boast more beaches than the rest of the Caribbean put together and have rightly earned The Bahamas a reputation as a dream holiday destination. The reefs are rich in marine life and The Bahamas offer over 1,000 dive sites.
The largest of the Cayman Islands, GRAND CAYMAN has one of the most spectacular beaches in the Caribbean that more than lives up to its name ‘Seven Mile Beach’. Swim with the gentle stingrays, dive at one of over 100 sites or just enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere of the unique island.
