Tobago, Grenadines, Grenada & St. Lucia
Caribbean
Overview
These islands form the tail of the Caribbean, stretching south almost as far as the South American mainland.
GRENADA the ‘Spice Island’, as it is commonly known, has more spices per square mile than anywhere else on the planet. It is criss-crossed with nature trails which weave across the mountainous interior of the Grand Etang National Park and between dozens of secluded coves and sandy beaches. Grenada is steadily earning a name for itself as a top holiday destination, although it remains comparatively unspoilt.
TOBAGO is at the bottom of this group of islands, the smaller sister of Trinidad and one of the least explored and most uncontrived of the Caribbean islands. Its reefs boast the largest brain coral in the world and are a favourite haunt of manta rays.
THE GRENADINES, like emerald stepping stones, reach north from Grenada as far as St. Vincent, providing enormous variety and seclusion. Palm Island and Mustique have gained international reputations as island hideaways of the rich and famous, while the Grenadines as a whole provide dream yachting territory.
ST. LUCIA lives up to the stereotype of the Caribbean paradise, with its dramatic scenery, colourful villages and secluded beaches. The dramatic pitons, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offer a unique and outstanding landscape famous throughout the world.
