Overview

Situated over 3,000 ft above sea level in the Blue Mountains, this 12-room hideaway stands on the site of an 18th century working plantation and once served as the holiday home of music producer Chris Blackwell.

Accommodation

Strawberry Hill features 12 Georgian-style cottages including: One bedrooms, Studios and Deluxe Villas. Cottages embody traditional 19th century Georgian architecture with interior details to create a romantic atmosphere: dark mahogany four-poster beds draped with a delicate canopy of muslin netting; French doors; thick louvered windows and spacious private verandas.

Each cottage features hand-carved fretwork with different themes. Jamaican art and photographs decorate the walls, while bathrooms are simply furnished with terracotta and hand-glazed tiles and deep bathtubs.

Restaurants & Bars

Strawberry Hill has many different locations to suit the mood of the day.

The Library veranda and Bamboo room are available for the residents and small parties; the Jade Vine terrace for weddings and entertainment and the poolside and bar veranda for general relaxation. Additionally for those enjoying the Aveda Spa, there is an intimate buffet and menu within the Spa itself.

Strawberry Hill combines traditional Jamaican dishes and spices with international recipes to create 'new Jamaican cuisine'.

Strawberry Hill Living is the result of the Aveda and Strawberry Hill teams who have carefully designed a complete spa and rejuvenation regime. The root of Aveda's holistic spa philosophy, Elemental Nature, is based on the five elements found in nature (and within each of us): Infinity, Air, Fire, Water and Earth.

The hotel can also organise scuba diving, deep sea fishing, climbing waterfalls and wandering through Botanic Gardens, all of which are within a 2 hour drive.
