Overview

Sister hotel to the award-winning One Aldwych in London, Carlisle Bay brings contemporary luxury to Antigua.

Sitting in a unique location between ancient mangroves and a breathtaking white sand beach, the rolling hills and lush rainforest serve as its dramatic backdrop. Then there is the hotel’s thoughtful contemporary design, comfortable and luxurious, which makes quite an impact in this unspoilt tropical setting.

Accommodation

There are 82 suites, Beach, Ocean and Three-bedroom, each irresistibly spacious with cool, calm interiors and fantastic ocean views from their private terraces or balconies.

All suites feature bespoke furniture, luxurious silks, crisp white Frette bed linen and have individually controlled air conditioning and ceiling fans. Each suite also has a large day bed on the balcony.

Beach Suites have a separtate lounge area which can either be used as a study or, for families with children, an extra bedroom.

Ocean Suites are exceptionally spacious, split level with king size beds and large sitting area.

Restaurants & Bars

Carlisle Bay has two of Antigua’s most outstanding restaurants; Indigo on the Beach offers delicious healthy grills, barbeques, seafood and salads with breathtaking ocean views, while East restaurant serves exciting Asian food in a stunning contemporary setting.

Indigo on the Beach Bar, adjacent to the restaurant, overlooks the secluded scooping bay and is perfect for afternoon tea or cocktails before dinner, while the Pavillion Bar, with views of the gardens and pool beyond, has piano or jazz every night. The Jetty Bar is ideal for a drink after a swim or water sports and again perfect for a cocktail while the sun goes down.

Spa

The Blue Spa is set against a beautiful backdrop of rolling hills and rainforest, a setting inspiring peace, calm and contemplation.

There are six treatment rooms where 100% pure and natural products are used.

The Spa area also features a state-of-the-art gymnasium where personal trainers are on hand for fitness sessions, Yoga and Pilates.

Children

Smaller guests are made to feel at home from the outset with a weekly activity programme. On arrival, children receive a children's robe for use during their stay and babies receive a bib.

A fully-equipped purpose-built kids club with a large shaded terrace, jungle gym, sandpit, paddling pool and four mini tennis courts, the Cool Kids Club is set in the hotel's tropical gardens and caters for children from six months to twelve years old.

Open daily from 8.30am to 12.30 and 1.15pm to 4.15pm, there is no charge for children aged from three years, and in addition they will also enjoy a complimentary high tea each day.

Recreation

Carlisle Bay offers a host of different activities, amongst them watersports, boat excursions, tennis, island tours and even a guided hiking trail through the rainforest. There is also a PADI certified dive centre. Professional instruction is also available for windsurfing, sailing, tennis, Yoga and Pilates.

A private screening room shows movies from the latest blockbusters to old-time classics. There are two children's movies shown each day, and a movie for the older generation in the evening.

In addition there is plenty to see and do around the island, from golf to bareboat charter, craft shopping to helicopter tours, kayaking, eco adventure tours and exploring historical attractions.
